All applications and fees must be turned in no later than Friday, October 28th to be included on garage sale list.

Limo shuttles will be waiting outside to pick you up and drop you off at one of our many retail shops, cruise around and shop your heart out.   3. Meet Your Ancestors at Columbia Historical Cemetery

    COLUMBIA CEMETERY will be the site for the annual "Meet Your Ancestors" on Saturday, November 5th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Columbia Historical Museum puts on the "Meet Your Ancestors" program each year. This year's theme will be past educators from the West Columbia area who are buried at old Columbia Cemetery, located at the corner of 16th and Jackson streets in West Columbia. The entrance to the cemetery is across the street from the Columbia United Methodist Church. Narrators dressed in period clothing will portray ancestors buried in Old Columbia Cemetery. Tiki torches will light the way to each former educators' burial site who is being portrayed the night of November 5th. Admission is free but donations to the Columbia Historical Museum are welcome and encouraged. For additional information about "Meet Your Ancestors" call the local museum at (979) 345-6125.

  2. Meet Your Ancestors at Columbia Historical Cemetery

    At the time of his death 122 years ago, William Henry Burkhart served as a Texas district judge longer than anyone else in the Lone Star State, according to The Houston Post. Judge Burkhart, who was buried at Columbia Cemetery in an unmarked grave following his passing February 22, 1900, at the age of 61, will be one of five former judges portrayed by actors at the Nov. 5 “Meet Your Ancestors” program at West Columbia’s historic cemetery. The Columbia Historic Museum, in cooperation with the Columbia Cemetery Association, will be sponsoring the annual “Meet Your Ancestors” event which will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. Admission to the program is free. Actors will portray the judges and tell a little bit about their character’s life story at the grave site.
