The purpose of the Public Works Department is to promote and oversee the construction and maintenance of the City's infrastructure.
City crews are struggling to keep pumps in our lift stations clear of debris such as disposal wipes and scrubbers like those advertised on TV. Contrary to the advertisements, these wipes and scrubbers are not sewer system friendly and they significantly increase the likelihood of sanitary sewer backups in your home, apartment or in hotel rooms. As sewer backups caused by these wipes can occur rapidly, the city will NOT be responsible for the backup and any related damages. Please do not dispose of paper or plastic products (beyond toilet tissue) in your toilet or other drains. The home you save may be your own.
CANCELLED - Beginning Monday, May 3, the city will begin dismantling the ground storage tank at its Well #2 (GST2) facility located at 800 Loggins Dr. from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday, taking approximately a week to complete the project, dependent on weather and any emergencies that may arise. This dismantling project will not interrupt traffic in the area. The city is working on an infrastructure improvement project to replace the tank in the very near future. The city has ample water capacity while this tank is out of service to supply its customers.
