Brazos River Update

The River is currently cresting at West Columbia. Updated information is available online at https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php… .

The most recent forecasts show a threat of rain late Friday into Saturday morning. With our outfall ditches charged with river water and our ground already saturated, we advise residents in low lying areas to be vigilant and aware of current conditions and monitor weather forecasts.

Drivers are asked to take notice of the potential for rising water on roadways during any rain event and to never drive into flood waters. Please report high water or water over the roadway to West Columbia Police Department at 979-345-5121.

We will continue to monitor National Weather Service River and Meteorological Forecasts to make updates and release information as necessary.
